Description
Most of us are familiar with the legend of Johnny Appleseed but in this course, we take a closer look at the man behind the legend, John Chapman. His life was truly extraordinary!
The story of John Chapman is presented using a variety of videos and activities.
Three different styles of videos keep your students engaged. (One video is like a TV game show!) Each of the five chapters, or sections, begins with a video overview. The introduction is followed by additional videos or activities or both. The chapters conclude with an online self-grading multiple-choice Quick Quiz.
A downloadable PDF Student Edition Guidebook contains all the activities, instructions, and additional resource pages. You'll find detailed teaching notes and answer keys in the separate Educator Edition, also a downloadable PDF.
This course:
Incorporates several educational disciplines in one topic
Is easily adapted to students of different ages and interests
has all the research and organization done for you
helps students find the fun in history class
requires little to no supervision for the videos and online resources (depending on the age of the students, some activities might require help)
has transcriptions for every video
Requirements
You will need internet access to take this course. If you wish to print the Student and Educator guidebooks, you will need a printer and paper. And (my favorite part!) for some of the activities, you will need apples!
